Remy’s Picks: Pumpkin Treats
November 6, 2019
‘Tis the season… for pumpkin! Whether you stick to a tried-and-true pie recipe or are thinking of whipping up something new, any kind of pumpkin dessert on Thanksgiving spreads happiness around the table. But Remy has a fun fact for you: did you know that fresh and canned pumpkin is also incredible for a dog’s health? This tasty and festive fruit (yes, pumpkin is a fruit!) is an extremely nutritious addition to your furry friend’s meal.
Pumpkin For Your Best Pal
If your pet is having stomach issues, a bit of fresh or canned pumpkin added to their bowl can work wonders. With high fiber content and vitamins and minerals, everyone’s favorite fall food can ease digestion and alleviate irritation. Add about 1 to 4 tablespoons of pumpkin to your dog’s meal, but do not use canned pumpkin pie, as that contains a toxic ingredient to dogs called xylitol.
