A 65-Year Tradition of Family Values
A family-owned-and-operated company, the origin of McKee Builders dates back to 1948, when founder Frank A. McKee established a heating and air conditioning business. The company soon evolved into a full building and construction enterprise. In 1960, McKee began its history of vision and innovation in the area of adult housing with the creation of apartment buildings focused on the needs of seniors.
Innovators in 55+ Lifestyle Communities
By the 1970s, McKee Builders had established itself as a true pioneer in Pennsylvania 55+ lifestyle communities. The company built the Village at Neshaminy Falls, the region's first "resort-style community for seniors." This success led to others as McKee continued to innovate new ideas in homes and lifestyle amenities for active adults, creating additional communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland. The company's ground-breaking ideas were recognized by both Good Morning America and U.S. News and World Report.
New Ideas, Unique Locations
By the 1990s, the second generation of the McKee family had taken the reins of the business under the leadership of Frank J. McKee. While continuing the family commitment to integrity, quality and exceptional homeowner satisfaction, McKee began expanding on the concepts of 55 and older adult communities. New ideas in home styles and interior floor plans were developed. Community features were expanded to include amenity-rich clubhouses, and unique locations in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania were selected that perfectly suited the lifestyle expectations and desires of the 55+ homeowner.
Today, McKee Builders is firmly established as a leader in the 55+ active adult community market. While the company's work has garnered a multitude of awards and recognitions, the McKee family takes the greatest pride in creating beautiful homes and communities that enrich the lives of homeowners.
Members of the second and third generation of the McKee family continue the company's founding commitment to quality.
