Tuck Everlasting

Tuck Everlasting

For 13.5 years, the McKee family’s faithful golden retriever, Tuck truly defined the expression “man’s best friend.” He was a dear companion, but to the extended McKee Group family, at the corporate offices and often at the McKee sites, he was so much more. From Chief Morale Officer (CMO) to persistent shadow, he filled roles that warmed hearts day in and out.

Anyone who frequented the office knew that Tuck would be the first to greet you, tail in full circles, ready to make your day brighter. Not long ago, he made his media debut as the centerfold of an ad campaign, boasting how proud he was of the quality homes his family builds. Made for the spotlight, Tuck became somewhat of a celebrity within the 55+ homebuilders’ world; yet, his CMO role was the most serious to him. Boosting morale wherever he went was one of his greatest qualities. Whether you came in contact with him at the office, or his face beamed at you on an ad, you quickly filled with joy.

Throughout the latter part of his life, Tuck developed a new role, a courageous fighter. He beat the odds of multiple illnesses and lived almost two years longer than the vets had originally given him. Unfortunately he recently succumbed to cancer, but not without a gallant fight. Although we are deeply heartbroken by this loss, we are incredibly grateful to have had the honor of him being a part of our lives. The happiness that he was able to bring to so many people will never go unnoticed. We are positive that wherever he is, he’s still continuing to take his CMO duties very seriously. His spirit will live on within both the immediate and extended McKee Group family as an everlasting legacy.
